About Us
The purpose of the Association is to operate as a charitable and educational organization that promotes tolerance and understanding among people of different cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds, with special reference to Asian Indians, within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Service law. The Association is not formed for pecuniary profit or financial gain. The Association will provide members of the Asian-Indian community, hereinafter referred to as the “Indian” community, and all others in Collier County and the surrounding areas with an organization dedicated to these purposes and to fostering closer ties among people. To achieve these objectives, the Association may perform any lawful act or activity permitted for not-for-profit corporations under the Florida Not For Profit Corporation Act. Notwithstanding any other provision of these Articles to the contrary, the Association shall not have or exercise any power that would cause it to fail to qualify as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Code, nor shall the Association engage, directly or indirectly, in any activity that would cause the loss of such qualification. In furtherance of its objectives, the Association may raise funds through sponsorship of events, functions, and entertainment; accept donations; acquire property; and disburse funds as necessary.
